CHRISTIAN AND ZIONIST SANCTIFICATION UNTO HOLINESS OF LIFE

Sanctification is a sitting apart of oneself for the exclusive use of the LORD.

In SANCTIFICATION a Christian or Zionist separates himself / herself from every form of Sin and the World and dedicates himself or herself to be used by The LORD, Almighty God.

Indeed, a miracle of Grace is a must and part and parcel of SANCTIFICATION EXPERIENCES. In SANCTIFICATION Exercise, a Miracle of Grace is wrought in the Believer, the Christian or Zionist.

Certainly, YOU can attain SANCTIFICATION Unto HOLINESS Of Life. Real Sanctification cannot be confered on YOU posthumously by a benevolent ecclesiastic, no matter what miracles and myth surround your name, no matter the profundity of existing Theological Essays on the matter. YOU have to attain sainthood in this life or YOU were never a SAINT.

SANCTIFICATION UNTO HOLINESS OF LIFE

Before we delve into the Method of attaining SANCTIFICATION it is useful to review the usage of the word and its connotations so that YOU as an Aspirant can correctly focus your aspiration. Correct focusing of Aspiration is very important.

(i) "And The LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes, and be ready against the third day"

(Exodus 9: 10-11).

"... I am come to sacrifice unto The LORD: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice"

(1 Samuel 16: 5).

This is SANCTIFICATION as a Religious Ritual. It usually involves taking a bath in a stream or some other form of ablution if not a complete bath. It might include ANOINTING WITH OIL or it could be only ANOINTING with Oil. Sometimes wearing FRESH CLOTHING or special clothing is involved. On important occasions a FAST might be added to it

(Joel 1: 14; 2: 15).

This form of SANCTIFICATION is still being used in the Christian world. It is powerful psychologically in orienting individual and public consciousness towards HOLINESS. It has great values in terms of hygiene. Sometimes it works in inducing REPENTANCE in the people and solemnizing religious rituals. Publicly and privately it is the easiest way of creating solemnity.

But by its nature it does not and cannot go far enough. The body is sanctified, but the Soul is NOT. A point of Repentance might be acheived, but the spell soon wears off. In any case the total character is hardly changed, that is, the total CHARACTER of the PERSON.

After some time it becomes merely ritualistic. After sanctifying themselves, the people still go forward and commit their various sins, adultery, fornication, stealing, murder, blasphemy, etc. In Isaiah 66 v. 17 it was reported that those who sanctified themselves and purified themselves in the garden behind one tree went forward to commit abominations and were slated for destruction.

So the GARMENT, the White Garment might help to induce the thought of HOLINESS, but it does not and cannot confer HOLINESS on the wearer. It cannot confer it on the body. It cannot confer it on the spirit.

There is a case of genuine usefulness of properly consecrated Oil for inducing vibrations of HOLINESS on the recipient ~ or patient or candidate ~ preparatory to Energy Transfer in healing or initiation ceremony (This is Mysticism and we cannot treat it fully here because of lack of space and time) but the effect soon wears off unless the recipient is basically holy in his or her soul. This principle however is the origin of ANOINTING WITH OIL in all ORDINATION CEREMONIES in the Christian Church. Christianity didn't start it. It inherited it, a useful idea. Inspite of this usefulness, the Oil which anoints the body cannot sanctify the Soul. It cannot cleanse the Soul.

(ii) The word "SANCTIFIED" is sometimes used in Religious Writing to simply mean "Somebody or some Vessel has been set aside for a religious or holy use".

The setting aside might be through the agency of public or private ceremonies or might merely be through conventional association of usage or association of identity.

In this sense there are Christians sanctified by mere reason of their being associated with Christianity, a Holy Religious Faith. This, however, is not the SANCTIFICATION which we are talking about since it doesn't concern itself with the real state of their Souls.

It is unfortunate that some of this type of SANCTIFICATION by Association or by logic of Christian Association was employed by St. Paul in his classification of all members of his Churches as Saints. Many of them were actually Saints. Many of them were actually Saints probably the majority in a few small Churches, but certainly not all in all the Churches.

For instance, in Philippians St. Paul wrote "to all the Saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the Bishops and Deacons ..." but went further to disclose in Verse 15 of Chapter One that "some indeed preach Christ even of ENVY and STRIFE ..." Certainly, Saints cannot engage in this kind of thing. So when we say that not all the members of the Early Church were Saints, we are not indulging in derogatory speculation but identifying points of reality so that we can do better in our time.

SANCTIFICATION, as YOU will soon discover if YOU continue in this sacred discourse with zeal, is a little more difficult than being converted to Lord Christ De Messiah, although it requires that as a prerequisite.

The usage that YOU are SANCTIFIED By ASSOCIATION with a CHURCH or a Religious GROUP or because YOU "OFFERED" your life to The LORD and forsook the society of Satan is valid in so far as Biblical Convention goes. But surely we are aiming for something deeper and more real when we essay to inform YOU about SANCTIFICATION as a stage of NEW BIRTH, the Second Stage of New Birth. We are aiming at SANCTIFICATION as a distinct spiritual event, a spiritual stage in the development of the Soul, not a polite Biblical generalization that covers all and sundry in so far as they have not sinned in a conspicuous manner.

(iii) "... before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a Prophet unto the nations"

(Jeremiah 1: 5).

This is peculiar or special to Jeremiah as a Divine Messenger. The use of SANCTIFICATION here includes the twin ideas of separation for a special use and cleansing of the soul. We cannot examine the procedure of this SANCTIFICATION because God Almighty was directly at work and much was not disclosed.

We cannot wait for this Special Method for all of us, otherwise most of us, the great majority of us will never become sanctified. We shall be wrong to wait for this rare and special method because our Lord and Saviour had come and laid bare the method and wherewithal of SANCTIFICATION for all of us, including the previous assistance of His Grace.

In the Old Testament Period, only those who were divinely called as Prophets or Seers had access to The Spirit Of God and hence knew a bit about the nature of God. The rest depended heavily on hearsays, tribal lore and private conjectures. But our Lord Jesus Christ De Messiah has called all of us to become Children of God in a spiritual way and SANCTIFICATION is the second significant step required of us.

(iv) "... they shall sanctify My Name, and sanctify The Holy One of Jacob"

(Isaiah 29: 23).

"But Sanctify The LORD God in your hearts ..."

(1 Peter 3: 15)

SANCTIFICATION here means REVERENCE. That is, they shall call His Name with reverence and with pure thoughts. St. Peter mentioned our heart. This is delightful, for the experience of SANCTIFICATION has to do with our hearts, the matrix of all our desires. It has to do with PURITY; it has to do with our hearts.

(v) So we finally arrive at the meaning of SANCTIFICATION which is most important to us as Children of God. The meaning which we are looking for is PURIFICATION of our Souls, or more specifically of our HEARTS so that it is PURE and sin is uprooted from within us.

To this end, our Lord Jesus Christ De Messiah Himself prayed for His disciples:

"Sanctify Them Through Thy Truth, Thy Word Is Truth" (John 17: 17).

And one of the ends of SANCTIFICATION, as the Hebrews pointed out, is increased rapport of the Christian with The LORD. "For both He that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brethren" (Hebrews 2: 11).

SANCTIFICATION Unto HOLINESS Of Life by incessant CONSECRATION and DEDICATION of Life, unto GOD - The REGENERATION!
